How It Got Started

In early 2007 Jeff Jessee and Kiernon Reiniger began discussing ideas for software solutions for financial advisors.
Jeff, a financial advisor himself, yearned for tools that would streamline his practice.
Kiernon, a veteran of the software industry, began designing a web-based electronic data collection and workflow
product for financial advisors and their clients to streamline the financial planning process.
After a few months of designing and planning, Jeff and Kiernon decided to quit their day jobs and went into business together to
produce and market their ideas, and thus Tailwind Financial Solutions was born.
The software was in development for approximately a year and debuted in January 2008 at COW College in Orlando, FL.

President
Kiernon Reiniger is the co-founder and President of Tailwind Financial
Solutions, LLC. He and Jeff Jessee founded Tailwind Financial Solutions in
2007 with the goal of providing web-based tools to financial advisors and their
clients that streamline the financial planning process.
A 22-year veteran of the software industry with a passion for building leading-edge
software products that people actually use, Kiernon began his career at Microsoft
Corporation in 1988 shortly after graduating from University of Oregon with a B.S.
in Computer Science. In 1991 Kiernon and Bob Pritchett, a friend who also
worked at Microsoft, began working on Windows-based Bible software. They started
a company called Logos Research Systems, and in 1992, Kiernon, Bob, and Dale (Bob’s
father) decided to quit their day jobs and work at Logos full-time.
During Kiernon’s time at Logos, the company grew to become – and continues
to be – the dominant Bible software company worldwide, leading the industry’s
transition from DOS to Windows and then from Bibles only into multi-lingual electronic
publishing of Bibles and biblical reference works of all kinds.
Since his days at Logos Research Systems, Kiernon has worked in key roles at a number
of software companies, ranging from technology startups such as TechWave (eCommerce
company), Conversay Corporation (speech technology provider), and Who’s Calling,
Inc (telephony services provider), to large corporations such as Harland Financial
Solutions (mortgage industry software). Then in 2007, seeing another opportunity
to build industry-changing software products, Kiernon once again quit his day job to work
with Jeff at Tailwind Financial Solutions.
Kiernon and his wife Kerry have been married for 15 years. He has three fast-growing
sons and is also the father of a delightful daughter.
