What is Tailwind?

Tailwind is secure web-based data collection and management software designed by financial advisors to meet the needs of financial advisors and their clients.  Our objective is make collecting your financial data on behalf of your advisor as painless as possible for you, and to help your advisor use the data you provide as efficiently and effectively as possible on your behalf. 
 

Do I have to download any software to use Tailwind?

No.  The system is entirely web-based so you can access it from anywhere with internet access.  There are no installations, upgrades, or system compatibility issues.
 

Is my personal data safe?

Yes.  Tailwind has implemented security safeguards and data backup procedures.  Tailwind uses 256-bit encryption to protect your data.  (128-bit encryption is used for older web-browsers that cannot support 256-bit.)


Who can see my data?

Only you and your financial advisor can see your data.
 

What happens to my data when I complete the questionnaire?

Your advisor is notified by email that you have completed the questionnaire.  Your information is immediately available for your advisor to review.  You save time because you don't have to scan, fax, email, mail or hand deliver your questionnaire to your advisor.
 

What happens if I need to step away in the middle of filling out the questionnaire?

Just save the item you are working on and log out.  All of your progress is saved.  When you are ready, return to https://clients.tailwindfs.com, or click the Client Login at the top right of every page at www.tailwindfs.com.  Log back in using your username (normally your email adress) and your password.  Tailwind will return you to the same spot you left, and you can resume filling out the questionnaire and taking the Insights Assessments (if available ) from the point you left off.
 

Why do you require a strong password?

We understand that some people may find our requirement of a strong password inconvenient.  It is the most visible to you of several measures we have in place to protect your data.  Because we are collecting your personal data on behalf of your advisor, we have a responsibility to your advisor and to you to maintain the security of your data.  Requiring a strong password is one of the ways we use to meet this responsililities.
